What kind of prop would you recommend for long straight line rides on a lake. I own a Lund, 1700 Fisherman series boat with a Yamaha 115hp 2-stroke.

Re: Yamaha 115hp outboard

The best way is to try several props (with different pitch) in conditions described by rodbolt. Before that, make sure the engine height on the transom is correct – make search for posts abut that matter here and on the General OB forum. The prop that allows you to run engine’s max rpm at wide opened throttle will be the ideal one. Obviously you don’t have to run WOT after you choose your prop, that’s just the way to make sure you have the right setup. Once you are all done, going in the 4000-4500rpm range will allow you save the gas.
