Yamaha 130 no spark??

I am working on a 92 Yami 130 V4. It was a runner before I swapped out power heads because of a dead hole (broken piston) and now I have a no spark condition.

I have the factory service manual and have done the tests for resistance on the pulser coil and charge coil as described. The pulser coil checks good but the charge coil fails.

Is there another test I can do to check the charge coil to verify that it is good or bad before I condemn it?

Just seems odd that it worked one day and not the next.

Check voltages while cranking over is the only other one that I know of.
You will need a DVA adapter with a regular meter or a meter made for these ignition systems

Is this the same charge coil from the other power head?
what readings did you get and what are the specs?
Maybe you pinched a wire and it is grounding out.

Yes, the same charge coil from dead power head. Just unbolted it and transferred it.

The book calls for 55.4 to 83.2 Ohms between the Black/Red and Blue wire and the Brown to Red wire should have 592 to 888 Ohms. I have nothing or an open circuit on both of them.

I looked for broken wires. It sits on top of the power head and routes behind the rectifier to the CDI. I don?t see where it could have been pinched but I will look again.

open circuit would be a bad connection in my thoughts, a short( grounded) would be low ohms

I rechecked it again. It was not making a good connection, it specs out as per the FSM now. Not sure where else to check and the FSM is really vague. I don't have the equipment to test the CDI.
