Hello, first let me thank anyone in advance who can help, I know spring is a busy time for everybody on these forums!

The engine is a Yamaha 130, early 90's. Oil injection. Serial # 303429, model # 130ETDD. I don't know the year.

After starting for the first time this spring, the engine would only run with the choke engaged. We bypassed the fuel feed by running a direct line from a spare tank to the engine. We took the plastic carb cover/air flow cowling off the front of the carbs and started it again with the manual choke engaged, and when we disengaged the choke (open the butterfly), fuel dumped out of the carbs while the engine was running. In about 3 seconds of no choke running the engine dies no matter what the idle speed.

PLease let me know if I can give any other info that could help.

Thanks again!

Mike.

Needles are sticking. Time to rebuild the carbs.

Is this what a carb rebuild kit is for? If I got one and did it would it solve the problem?
thanks

Yes that is what it is for. It should cure that problem if done correctly.
