I am in the process of replacing the mid section on my 1985 150 hp Yamaha outboard due to severe corrosion. The bolts securing the powerhead sheared off during disassembly. Luckily I saved the powerhead. I have since located a used midsection via the internet and the salvage broker sent me a photo of a unit that is one year younger (1986). It looks identical to the one I removed except in much better condition. Can anyone tell me if the year difference is an issue I need to consider ? The model number of my motor is 150ETLK. Thanks in advance for any help.
