I just bought a 150 Yamaha Saltwater Series, which I am installing on a Proline 19 ft center console. The engine has a external oil tank, which appears to be outfitted with a electric oil pump as well. I have been trying to figure out a place to mount the tank such that it wont interfere with the floor space in the boat. My first instinct was to mount it in the battery well, but room is an issue. The next thought is to mount it inside the center console. If I mount the tank within the console, I would have to run about 18feet of oil hose to reach the outboard. Has anybody had experience with a similar setup? Is this too far away from the outboard? I have no info on the pressure of this system, I'm just trying to find out if it would work being that far away from the outboard... Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
