My '01 Yamaha 150 TXRA A(2 stroke, oil injected) has a steady alert when the key is turned on and it continues after the motor starts to run. The three bars on the digital gauge continue to flash. It is not an overheat or low oil condition. My factory manual for this motor doesn't even mention the control head alerts....any and all help is truly appreciated...

Well, found the problem. the oil tank under the cowling had taken on the color of the oil, and it looked to be between the lines, but was not. I used the remote fill switch and the pump activated and filled it to the right level...gonna have to keep and eye on it and see why it dropped down like it did...

Those tanks should be removed and cleaned on a routine maintenance schedule along with changing internal filters and testing of the system.

You may have a problem with the float switch

Agree. Could be a bad remote tank swb. Or a bad wire harness to the remote tank.

3 bars flashing indicates SWb in the remote tank is functioning properly and the oil control module in the ECU sees the remote oil tank level sufficient for automatic transfer.
SW1 in the engine tank is for transfer off, SW2 in the engine tank is for transfer on and SW3 in the engine tank is another command for pump on,low level indicate, buzzer and RPM reduction.
my guess is either a bad wire between the engine and the tank, faulty SW2 or a clogged remote oil tank filter.
