I just acquired a 2 horse 2 stroke yamaha for $100 to use as a kicker on my 13' whaler.
The main engine is a 28 horse Johnson.
I was wondering if anyone was running a similar setup and if they were using a kicker bracket. I was planning on just clamping it to the stern opposite of the steering controls. What's the deal with the plastic prop? Is the aluminum aftermarket prop worth the price?

I'd just clamp it on the port side of transom, great kicker motor, plastic props are great for small motors. I would also check that motor regularly to make sure it'll start up when/if you need it. Stay on top of the fuel/stabilizer for that motor since it'll mostly just be sitting there and the fuel could degrade in that little tank. Good Luck!
