Is Yamaha going to phase out their 2 stroke outboards and only offer 4 strokes?

Are they going to introduce a 2 stroke dfi?

There have been Yammy DFIs on the market for several years. I think they are called HPDI.

Re: Yamaha 2 strokes?

I am wondering about the midrange power like the 50, 70, 90 hp motors?

I already hear that the 50 may not be produced after this year. Just wondering if they will try to offer something to compete with Etec or Tohatsu in a non-carbed 2 stroke.

Re: Yamaha 2 strokes?

When all is said and done the 2S markets is very small in comparison to the number of 4S being bolted on transoms these days.

They have discontinued all but the 200 HPDI and a couple of the v-max models in the High HP applications in favor of the 4 strokes so I don?t see why they wouldn?t continue the same trend in the lower Hp as well.
