Hi,

I have a Yamaha 225 BETO 2 str V6 year 1990 (Serial Nb 6K7 etc). I will not go trhough everything I did recently to try having it work perfectly (did not work since 4 years), the threads on this forum really helped me, basically among other problems now fixed, the engine did not want to start if I did not disconnect the yellow cable going to the computer on CDI box, it was starting perfectly with cable disconnected, so now it does start without bypassing the computer (thanks again to threads on this forum) but some problems still remain :

- cold start looks difficult if I do not use the red thing on prime start --> I checked voltage & co on prime start, it's ok, how can I test if it really works or not (I read threads about it but unless I am wrong, did not find how to really make sure it works)

- I still have a doubt about thermo-sensor, I tested it, it shows 3kohms at 20degC and decreases while temp increases, according to a seloc book I have it should show around 66 Kohms at 20degC but this book is covering different models --> anyone has the specs of thermo-sensor for my engine ?

- after starting the engine without bypassing the computer, the tach shows 0 RPMs, might be an electrical problem but I noticed that when computer was bypassed (yellow cable disconnected) RPMs stayed at 0 too --> Is it normal ? I checked the voltage on the crank sensor and it looks OK, so I am wondering if still an alarm could bypass the computer (how to detect the computer is bypassed ?) or if I have just another problem (probably electrical) with the tach ?

Thanks !
