Yamaha 250 4 stroke fuel pumps

My brother's Yamaha is brand new. While sizing his prop after less than 10 hrs running he had to have his fuel pump replaced. His very next trip he went through the marina to get bait. While docked at the bait house the motor died and he took motor to a differnt dealer and they had to put another new fuel pump in. Any suggestions on what is happening to his fuel pumps.

which fuel pump is being replaced. lift pump or high pressure pump ?

double check for fuel system vacum. also look for airleaks in the system, normally vacum will fall between 1 and 4" Hg. 6"Hg is maximum at wide open throttle. also test the voltage at the lift pump for correct operating voltage.
yours is the first lift pump failures I have heard of on an F250.
