2004 vz300tlrc , has been overheating on me. She hasnt been peeing very well, so i took apart the nipple and tried to blow out and trash in the line. Still weak on the stream. Tried the obvious impellor which was just fine, but replaced anyway and still getting hot and not peeing good. The top (cyl 1&2 or 5&6 not sure of the order) of the heads will get up to 190-195 deg. that seems a bit high. dont these run at like 160-170?? I am thinking the sensors and electrical aspect if fine and doing what its suppose to, but there is not enough water circulating. shall i try to pull the thermostats and see if that cures? is there any particular hose i can pull and try to blow out any obstruction?

thanks

Did you replace JUST the impeller; or the whole water pump kit??????????
It CAN make a difference.

I only did the impellor as it all looks good. No scoring in the cup, or signs of heat/melt. the old impellor was not even formed, so i dont think this is related to the problem.

Pull and test the thermostats to make sure they are opening at the proper temp and opening as far as they should.
Look inside passages while they are out to see what the passages look like.
Pull and clean/replace the PRV to make sure they are not sticking open.

Do not leave out the thermostats , the motor needs them in place like all water cooled motors, as a restriction to make sure water circulates to all parts of the motor. If left out it will cause hot spots.
