I'm looking to buy this motor, do you have any advices? Is it a safe buy?

Is it still the same engin today?

I'm planning to use it for waterski, will it have as much guts as my old 1977 70hp rude? And what about top speed? The rude gives me 26 to 31mph depending of the prop I use.

Thanks, Mart

And you are installing it on what kind of boat???? I would say no to just about all your questions. It definitely will not have the hole shot. Unless prop selection is made for skiing it won't have the oomph the Evinrude had. Top end speeds can be comparable if the engine is propped properly. But all around with any given prop, my thoughts are no it won't perform like the Evinrude although it might be more economical and it will be quieter if that makes a difference.

The boat is a Cadorette Skimaster, 15.5 feet.

What kid of speed should I get?

Thanks
