Hi, I have a 1995 Yamaha 2 Cylinder 40HP outboard. My 703 control went kablooey and I need to replace it. A website I looked at says that I need a 10 pin connector and a "push to open" choke. There is a 703 on eBay with a 10 pin connector and a "pull to open" choke - otherwise it appears to be the same. My question is: Can I use this control? I can't afford a new one and I can't go much longer without a boat. Hep me! please, somebody hep me!! Thanks

Re: Yamaha 703 Control

Well, guess what, I am one of the 2 guys that has the 703 remote on Ebay. Mine is the Pull to Open. You will need the opposite, and it's for the throttle, not the choke. See, this one when you push lever forward will Pull your throttle linkage inside motor. Yours will Push linkage, consequently you won't be able to use it, unless somebody knows if there is a way to invert internal levers on remote.

Val

Hey, I just checked, I am the ONLY one with a 703 on Ebay.... still won't work for you, too bad, this is the last brand new I have and it's just missing screws to install it on side.

Val
