HI i have a 70 hp it says made in japan , 70BEO 6H3 L ......& the number after the L , Ive been trying to find info on this motor i think its 1987 i could be wrong , is it possible to disconnect the oil pump& run the motor on 50:1 with synthetic oil i was told Yamaha tends to clog the plugs , this is why i was thinking to change over to synthetic oil as its not a mineral based oil witch should not give me a carbon build up on the plugs any help & info on this motor would be appreciated thanks :joyous:

Leave it alone. Prefixing will foul plugs faster thus the reasoning for oil injection.

Yes it can be done.
Just carry a spare set of plugs.
Then once a year(depending on use) do a de-carb.
My 2 stroker runs wally world goop and I never foul the plugs.
Just unhook the sender for the low oil alarm.
