Hi - 3 quick questions.
1: there is a wiring harness coming down from the stator plate and both wires are green - anyone know what these are for? are they charging + and -? the lower tray has a blanking plug in a cigar lighter shaped hole which I'm guessing might have been an optional charge take off point, although it's along the side.
2: the leg has had some corrosion and there is a hole of about 1/4 inch below the transom swivel section. is that section above the gearbo meant to be dry inside or is it allowed to run wet? there appears to have been a small removable plate just above the cavitation plate.
3: is it a simple operation to drop the gearbox off the bottom of the leg to service the water pump, or do things need to be disconnected at teh top end as well?

Thanks

the green wires go to your lighting coil. your probably correct about additional charge take off point. The shift rod has to be disconnected in order to drop the lower unit.. Usually have to remove a rubber grommet to access connector but maybe that is the hole you are talking about. See what moves when you shift.
