test spark,test compression.<br /> if the above are good clean the carb and replace the pump diaphram and gaskets. if you order a carb kit the pump parts must be ordered seperatly.<br /> good luck and keep posting

YAMAHA 8HP

I have Yamaha outboard motor 8HP (2 strokes, 2 cylinders, 165cm3) 10 years old but used only one summer month per year. Last season, after starting the motor must be immediately put in forward position because at low RPM motor died out. During navigation I have not any problem because motor runs on 3/4 or full throttle. When approaching to coast, motor doesn't keep low RPM at neutral position and is spent independently and consequently I can not select when needed reverse navigation. Detailed cause and remedies is required because it is very difficult for me to bring it to repair store.<br />Many thanks in advance!
