Yamaha 90 HP 1996; Tach oil status indication

Just bought boat. Have no manual. Internal oil reservoir only. No external tank. Tach shows three symbols: low oil, a ramp(intermediate?), and full oil tank symbol. When engine is running, the full symbol disappears and the ramp symbol flashes. What does this mean? My reservoir is 3-4 inches from the top.

:rolleyes: :rolleyes: Is it a multi-gauge?Is your gauge working still?I'm having similar problem and it was fine until i filled my oil tank all the way up,now the whole gauge is acting crazy flashing cant read screen!!!! hmmmmmm

Every thing was fine until I filled the reservoir in the engine all the way to the top. Then it started flashing "intermediate level". Also, after I filled it so full, I realized there is a tube about 3 inches or so below the level I filled it to. Obviously this is some kind of overflow tube, but no oil dripped out. I wonder where that oil is directed.
