I have a 1997 115HP Yamaha S115TL. I recently replaced the oil pump, water pump, fuel pump, fuel filter, water separator, spark plugs, and I just recently rebuilt my carbs. After I rebuilt my carbs I am now getting an alarm which I believe to be high temp alarm but could be wrong only at high rmps. If I stay around 3500 rpm's I do not get an alarm. After getting the alarm I turned the motor off for 5 min, started up and took off. Any suggestions for what I can do to diagnosis the problem?

what does your gauges say the alarm is?
did you look at the oil tank level on the motor while the alarm is going?

Is it at all possible that when you cleaned the carbs you either got something in the high speed jet(s) or, if they are adjustable, you have them set too lean? Because if it runs well until you get towards the high RPMs, it sounds like a possible lean condition where as the temp alarm is sounding off... IDK, Just a suggestion. Do you know what alarm is sounding off? :noidea:

The motor runs great I can actually go 2mph faster (GPS) than before I did the carb. rebuild. The motor idles fine and takes off great, WOT at 5,000+ rpm. I do not have a gauge that tells me the alarm. Can anyone please post a link for a gauge for this motor? I would love to have one mounted on my console. It has full oil tank and before I did the carb rebuild I was not having this problem. BUT before I did the carb rebuild I could only go about 2,500 rpm which is why I did the carb. rebuild.
