At the end of last season I had the pontoon boat in the water and the motor was stalling out when i put it in gear and tried to move. It was idling ok it seemed but i noticed there was no exhaust coming from the prop in the water... only from the block ducts. Any ideas where to start troubleshooting?

there are idle exhaust relief ports at top of mid section at back of the motors to keep the back pressure down on idling motor, so sounds normal to me.

What does the tag bacon have to do with this?

yeah, but shouldn't there be exhaust bubbling from the prop primarily? its always done that before now. And that it started stalling when you try to move happening at the same time seems suspicious.

Bacon is good for everything.

went out and cleaned the fuel filter, blasted the carbs with some cleaner, fired it up in a trashcan and low and behold it was bubbling as normal. I let it come up to temp and then tested it in gear and i guess the next step is to drop it into the lake and see if it can pull itself off the trailer.

Still not sure why it would have not been bubbling.
