Hi,

I have been using a Yamaha F115 4-stroke (2003) for almost 3 seasons now.
This outboard runs fine but it has been a problem (ever since it was new) that when using the Trim & Tilt it makes a horrible noise initially.

It is like this:

When I'm going for a trip in my boat and start to use the Trim it is very loud (up or down) - it sound like: i i i i i i i i i i i i i i...
After I have cycled the Trim up and down maybe 4-5-6 times it usually gets quiet and works rest of the day without any noice.

I guess it has something to do with the hydralics. It is when the upper part meet the trim pistons (see picture below, red arrows) the noice will start.

Sometimes the passengers gets very worried when they hear this noise (if I have not prepared them it will be loud) and I have to tell them that "this is normal" (at least all works without any problem) but they usually do not look that convinced...

Sure I can ask my Yamaha dealer but I think I will get better answers here actually.

Anyone else with this problem?
Suggestion(s) for a solution?

Thank's
/Bo
