yamaha f115 filters

Hi guys, I'm kinda new to boating and read this forum a lot to try to keep up with things. I like to stay on top of the prev. maintenance and have been seeing posts about adding a fuel water seperator. The one I see most frequently is the racor 320r-rac-01 with a 10 micron filter. Is this the right choice for my 02 f115? Where should it be mounted, and do you need any additional hardware to do it? Right now all I have is the stock filter under the cowl. Should the 4 st. 9.9 kicker be fitted with one also or can you run both engines from one filter?<br /> While researching this subject I've seen other helpful posts like keeping the motor tilted up during storage to prevent fuel from getting in the oil. Any other suggestions of things like this I should be doing or maintenance that should be performed would be greatly appreciated. <br /> Sorry for the long post and basic questions but this boat has to last me a looooonnnngggg time!<br /> Thanks, Scott

mount it in any location that is sheltered but provides access to service. then service it. it wont work if installed and forgotten. keep the cooling system maintained as outlined in your owners manual.<br /> you can run both off the same filter but fuel shutoff valves are strongly reccomended.

Hi,<br />Racor 320r-rac-01 with a 10 micron filter will be fine on a Yamaha F115. I have that separator (it just printed Yamaha on it - my Yamaha dealer mounted it when my old "standard" separator that came with the boat when it was new leaked).<br />I have a Yamaha F115 2003.<br />I do not now if the brass connectors is included but if not You neen 2 of that also (for incomming and outgoing).<br />You can use Loctite 542 to get sealing on the threads on the connectors.

Thanks guys, the racor is on its way. One more question. Fuel lines for the motors are running off seperate connections on the tank. The racor has one inlet and two outlets. Can I plug one of the outlets on the tank and run the other one into the racor and two lines out of it, one to each motor. I suppose I could but just want to make sure. Any other ideas about care of a 4 stroke would be appreciated as well for a newbie!<br /> Thanks again, Scott
