Hello glad to be hear. Last summer I purchased my first boat and a yamaha f8 to go with it "2016". I'm not all up on the functionality of outboards, still learning. Nice enough day to get some maintenance done. Anyways when I flushed water through the cooling system I had water coming from an area I'm not sure it should be. The top of the gear linkage. Here is a pic of the area in question. Any help for a newbie would be appreciated! Hopefully normal since the engine doesn't even have probably 10 hours yet. When I changed the gear oil no indication of moisture in the gear unit.

I would not worry about it
the water pump has water coming out of the drive shaft area and has to drain out somewhere
