Yamaha is going to fuel injection on most of their motors for 2005 so says Trailer Boat/Bass and Walleye. Hardly wait!

Re: yamaha fuel injection

Has to be for a different reason if true. Carbureted Yammis already meet 2006 standards. My '04 60HP also meets 2008 California Air Research Board 3 star standards.

I don't want to see the price. Yammis are already spendy with carbs. And I can't imagine how it could possibly run any smoother with injection.

Spinner

How does your Yami start on a -10C morning?

I would love a 75 or 90 Yami 4ST that was injected.

EFI is wonderful. but if it were mine it would have carbs :) :)
my 85 120 omc has started a many a morn at 25 degrees with no problems. the only thing I can see that yamaha could do to improve the 2 stroke efi is to ditch the blessed O2 sensor.
good luck and keep posting

Spinner

How does your Yami start on a -10C morning?

Muskytroller

We call that ice fishing here in Iowa. :) I take it you have a little salt in your favorite pond.

Point taken though. I'm sure cold start would be an advantage of injection. I don't fish too often below 50F.
