Yamaha gauge help.

I changed my inboard to a outboard .The 250hp (2001) engine runs fine (turz)2 stroke.Now my problem is I need a 2 stroke tach.as my present one only has a 4,6,8 on the back of it and measures 3 and 3/4,and I need one that has a 12 hook up.Will a 1991 yamaha multifunction tach. work using a 703 control? Thanks.any other ideas welcome.

the tach portion will if you set it at 12. the trim indicate wont.<br /> the visula indicators will require cutting and splicing or an adapter harness from your yam dealer<br /> why not just cough up the extra and buy the new meter that is plug and play and contains an hour meter as well as oil and overheat visual indicators.<br /> good luck and keep posting
