I have a 1992 200 HP 2 stroke yamaha and the over heat sensor keeps going off and I need to know if the sensor is bad or if just one cylinder is block from getting water or if I have something worse going on but I am positive that the impellar is working and the water that comes out of the motor is cool. please help

Re: Yamaha heat sensor

You can pull sensor and test it to make sure it is really seeing the overtemp, but if it is functioning within specs then you have a real over heat happening.
Possible cooling passages plugging, lean running cylinder, or pump problems.
If it is happening at low RPM then possible PRV sticking

Re: Yamaha heat sensor

Is pulling the sensor something that I can do or do I have to take it to a mechanic.
