i asked this in another section but got no bites....

i have a 2001 aqua sport 225 explorer walk-a-round cuddy and am trying to choose between these two motors. 2001 200 HPDI and a 2001 250HP Vmax. only thing i know is that the HPDI is 2.6L and the Vmax is 3.3L.

would one of these motors be better in a 100% salt water environment? would the larger motor get my big and heavy boat up and moving better?

both motors have the same 2 year top to bottom warranty. the boat is rated for 300hp but my wallet cant handle this option

That vmax have a 25" shaft? It'll fit your boat? It doesn't have a 20" shaft?

the vmax is the better buy for you. you wont see a fuel consumption difference, maintenance is similar but you get 50 more horse power. some would argue the vmax have more torque, i tend to agree.
