while I await the local manual guys to import me a manual on this particular unit I need the following information. Does this motor have a thermostat. I have looked but cannot find any thing on this particular motor that looks like a thermostat, or a thermostat housing, only a small hole high up on the motor that ejects a stream of water while the motor is running , is there any form of temperature control on these older motors.
regards William Wright

Closest I could come was 1985 for a 55Hp. That one has a cover to the left of the top sparkplug. The thermostat and bypass valve are under that cover.

regards WillyBWright ;)

Mr. WillyBWright Thank you for the information. Here in South Africa the 27th April is a public holiday, so I will have some time to have a look under the cover and see what is going on.I will report back my findings,
Kind Regards William Wright.
