Yamaha mechanic/tech course, does it exist?

Hello to all, hope everyone had a great 4th of July. I have always heard that there was a course offered by the Yamaha corp. to study the finer points of their motors. Does anyone know if this is correct information? If it is not given by the Yamaha company, can anyone tell me who offers the course? I live in the New York City area and would be interested finding a course offered in this region. I would really like to take an "official" outboard engine course. I have basic outboard knowledge, probably less than the average poster here, and would like to expand on it. This site has been an education, literally, whenever something goes wrong. I have probably saved about 3-4K in mechanical fees by posting here and getting feedback, so I am quite grateful to the members of this board. Any information about the Yamaha (Or the equivelant generic course)would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again to all. Pat.

Yamaha does have training courses, but to the best of my knowledge it is only offerd to employees of a Yamaha dealer. There is an outfit in Orlando,Fl. which advertises marine mechanics training. I have no idea of the value or cost of it.

yamaha offers a full range of courses on yamaha product at the<br /> yamaha training center<br /> 1270 chastain rd.<br /> Kennesaw Ga. 30144<br /> tel:770/420-5839<br /><br /> MMI, or marine mechanics institute teaches an extreamly wide range of marine product lines with a lot of different factory backing. they have a good web site and a second to none student support staff to answer all your needs. (company owners, this is where you recruit a good all around marine mechanic.)<br />yes i've been to both.

Sorry forgot to say MMI is located just off the <br />OBT in Orlando FL.
