I'm buying a boat and have narrowed it down to two. One has a 97 Yamaha 150 vmax that lost compression in one cylinder. Dealer rebuilt and dyno'd. Should this be a concern?<br />Second has a 00 Yamaha 150 VMAX Inj. Owner said "these" do not like to idle for long. Mentioned the 02 sensor, said recently lost 2000 rpm, changer plugs and everything was fine. Should this be a concern? Thanks

Re: Yamaha motors

Actually alot of outboards will foul plugs over long periods of time idling..You need to rev them up to clear the plugs every so often. (two strokes). Why did the one Yammie lose one cylinder? I personally like both of those engines..Normally they dont give much trouble..
