Yamaha OX66 overheat warning

iBoat friends . . .when I troll slowly with my single OX66 (SX250TXRZ, 2001) after about ten minutes the overheat warning alarm will sound and the gauge icon will blink(same as the oil warning.) If I accelerate for about 30 seconds, it goes away. The engine is very clean and there is a strong stream out of the "P" hole. Thoughts? Thanks in advance.

are you saying the oil and over temp icons are coming on when the buzzer sounds?

Yes, but it appears on this model the two malfunctions use the same warning system---alarm and blinking icon. The oil system was not the problem, as this scenario has presented itself a few times before. I hope I am not hurting the motor by getting back underway until the alarm stops. And by underway, I mean increasing speed from a troll to maybe 2000 RPM. After 30 seconds, the alarm stops and the icon ceases to blink, and the motor runs at full gallop (5500 RPM & 40 mph.) This is a 25' walk-around...

they both should not light up from an overheat.
need to fix that.

water pump, stats, and PRV would be a good idea to replace
