Yamaha problem

hey guys new to the forum, I have an odd problem with my Yamaha 50TLR 2008 year model. when running the boat, when I have been stopped for about 20 mins or more, the boat will crank and idle fine. but when you go to accelerate as soon as you get on the gas good the motor will die. after doing this 4 or 5 times it will get on plane and run fine. it is not a repeatable problem, it generally will happen only once or twice in a day.

It always is right after you crank it. It always will happen at the same point in the throttle, just as the throttle is contacting the cam arm on the CDI unit. It is always is after the motor has been off for a while. After it clears the problem it will not happen again as long as you keep it running. I suspect the CDI unit but really hate to spend $600 trial and error. The reason that I doubt it is the CDI unit is because when the motor is running no matter how many times you go to neutral back to in gear and accelerate it will not do it. does this sound familiar to anyone? any help would be greatly appreciated

Open low speed mixture screws a 1/4 turn and test run.

have you tried pumping the primer bulb to see if the fuel bowls are full when this is happening?

I guess this is a 2 stroke since you did not say it is a F50

I know this does not make much sense, but my BIL's 50 would bog down and die then giving it throttle and all I found wrong was some debris in the #3 main jet.
It ran fine after I cleaned that out

I will try the low speed mixture screws next trip.
There are 3 carbs on the motor, does the low speed mixture screw change all 3 cylinders?
I have cleaned all 3 carbs, I didn't take out the little plugs that you have to drill but I was pretty careful in cleaning all the ports with a small wire, and spraying carb cleaner in all passageways and was able to see spray coming out of all the holes.
It runs so good it is hard to think there is a piece of trash in a port

No----Each cylinder has its own carburetor !----There is no cost and very little effort to open each low speed mixture screw.----A simple test.----And I know it is a 2 stroke.
