I have a 91 Pursuit 2550 w/twin 150 Yamahas running 19 props. I took it out this weekend for the 1st time since buying it and got 48mph@5200rpms. Should I just leave it alone or go with a 17 prop. I had about 100gals of fuel me, my wife and 2 kids. I ran the boat by myself ad them with them no change. Advice.

Thanks

I believe the 150 is rated at 5,000 rpm.Your running 5,200 with family and 100 gals of gas.Seems good to me.The 17 would improve hole shot and add 3 to 400 rpm.putting you at 5,600.Of course you could throttle back a little.
Most say a 2 stroke likes to rev but I'm conservative.
You might try fine tuning the setup by raising the motor vertically a little one hole at a time.you might gain some rpm and speed and won't cost anything.

Are we talking F150 4 Strokes or V150 2 Strokes?

93 Yamaha 150 2-stroke. I dont know much about these engines but dont mostlly all 2-strokes rev at 5500 . My 93 Johnson 225 max rpms was 5500, so I thought that the Yamahas being v6 would also rev 5500. Also my holeshot is awesome you gun it and the boat jumps out and planes fast.

Thanks

Yamaha's website shows 4500-5500 WOT for the 2 stroke 150's. Sounds like you're in the sweet spot to me.
