Rodbolt or anyone else that may know the answer,

How does the CDI unit on carbed Yamahas limit the RPM? ( mine is a C40TLRX)
Does it start dropping a certain cylinder's spark or randomly drop spark to all cylinders. Or is there a different way that it does this?
Would it feel like a high speed miss, like it was dropping a cylinder?
I need to find a tach to see what my RPMs are doing , but I thought I would try and understand the way these things are designed to work and how it effects the motors while running.

It's interrupting the power that is distributed to the spark plugs randomly on all cylinders to keep the max RPM ..... once the rev limiter hits it feel as if the motor loses a little power ....

Does that mean it feels like a miss fire or dropping a cylinder?
Or does it just not power up any farther?
