Problem is on (2002) Yamaha gauge indicates low oil in remote tank. I ohmed out the remote sender and it is good all the way to the CDI. I then emptied the main tank and turned the key and the main tank filled back up. So it appears the CDI is getting the correct info otherwise it would not start the pump. Checked all connections to the Gauge, all appeared good but not sure which wire has the low oil. All other indicators appear to be working ok, (ground ok). So I think it is the gauge or the CDI but they both look real expensive and I would like to narrow it down. Would a repair shop just replace to find out which one? A gauge would probably cost as much as a visit to a mechanic. But I hate to replace a good part. I got as far as I did from info from this Forum. Thanks.
