Hey guys, I'd like to hear some feedback on other SX boat owners as they relate to RPMs and throttle tracking. I have the HO sx 230 and one engine maxs out at 8.2 and the other at 9.0 (k rpm). the throttle levers are about "1 finger" off when moving forward. I read that it is typical to get 10,000 rpm out of each engine, this is why Im surprised at maximum speed of 40 mph and rpms 1,000 off. Am I expecting too much? motors have 50 registered hours.

Re: Yamaha SX230 2005 twin throttle and engines

I am contemplating purchasing a 2007 AR230 but had trepidations due to the jet system (steering) and fuel consumption (i've heard that this boat might run through all 50 gal's in 8 hours). Is there any truth to these ideas? Would you purchase one of these boats again?

Thanks.

boat tests show 10.9 gallons per hour for the SX 230 HO.... Don't believe the dealer hype "oh, you can stay out all weekend on a half a tank of gas!".. Sure you can, drive out to the middle of the lake and anchor it the entire time!...

Re: Yamaha SX230 2005 twin throttle and engines

:)I have a 2004 sx 230 twin throttle jet boat. We had the boat out in the water yesterday. When leaving a small beach area, found out that one of the engines would not work. So we went back to the dock on one engine. This morning we had found two stones in the et pump gates. After removing the stones, the shifting worked. This afternoon we took the boat out on the water once again. At the dock one engine would kick in the engine with the stone problem would turn over but would not start. Can anyone help with this situation?
Thanks
