Yamaha T60 High Thrust OR E-tec 75 2 stroke for a 15' AB VST Rib?

Question, specific to putting either the Etec 75 at 320 lbs (confirmed) OR the Yama T60 (high thrust model) at 248 lbs on an AB 15' VST center console rib, rated at a max HP of 75.

It's for my girlfriend and she wants saftey and quiet. I, at 205 lbs, want to slalom ski behind it. I have 2 Etec 200 HO's, so I know quiet, and hole shot power when it comes to Etec. I have skied behind the Yama T60 on a 13" Nautica, but only because I used a "wide body" ski. No luck with a traditional slalom.

So even though the Yama is 72 lbs lighter, I'm thinking Etec for hole shot power for me and quiet for her, considering both are safe quality wise. The Etec would be a less maintenance, I know by experience, but appears to be abot $600+ more retail.

Opinions, specific, are much welcome.

Four strokes are generally deemed quieter than current two strokes but if you look at the numbers (dB), they are very close. Noise takes on a different quality depending on what is making the noise. So even though two items measure the same reading, one noise may not be as objectionable as the other. Such is the case with two-stroke vs four-stroke noise. So the difference here is while four-strokes may "appear" quieter" there is a distinct noise difference yet the noise "level" is actually the same (or very close to the same). As for the power issue -- it is E-tec all the way. (I have a 4-stroke Suzuki, two Johnson two strokes, and a Merc two-stroke so I'm what you might say, straddling the fence. My observations are that while four-strokes are getting better, they are still not a performance match for an equivalent HP two stroke.

Definitely the Etec. The stern weight of the Etec is a minor drawback in relation to its superior performance. I had an AB 15' with a 70 hp Nissan and it could pull me up, at 205, without a problem.

Do you think the e-tec 75 will be as quiet/loud as the Yamaha 60 4S?

What brand/size prop would you use for all-around plus skiing?

Thanks

the T model yamaha was NOT designed to haul boogie. it IS designed to propel pontoon boats and barges at a sedatly speed.
go with an F model or the E-TEC.

It will seem louder as the pitch is higher and a 17 pitch for general use. If you are just going to ski a 15.
