I have read some posts of yamaha owners fabricating their own flash code reader. I am trying to retreive codes from a 2004 VMax 225 ox66 motor. No idle below 825 rpm.
I have an automotive LED flash code reader and I also have the appropriate Seloc manual. Seloc shows connection of code reader between wiring harness plug connectors at oil tank level sensor. Harness side plug has six wires: Y/R, L/W, L/G, L/R, L/R, B
Tank sensor side of plug has five wires: L/W, L/G, L/R, L/R, B
The tool is illistrated with a single wire pigtail connecting to a single blue wire with a bullet connector from the emergency switch.
I obviously connect my LED flash tool ground - to the B. I need to know where the LED positive + ties in and also where to pigtail off to tie into the blue single wire, I believe this is the signal to initiate the flash sequence. Trying to avoid trial and error, with error frying the ECM.
Any help is appreciated, Thanks, Dave J.
