I have what I think is a 1984 Yamaha 115 <br />(#115AETO)outboard, and was wondering if anyone<br />could shed some light on a power trim problem I<br />have been unable to diagnose. The Motor tilts up and down fine, but when it comes to rest on the <br />Trim rams, they will not retract. The Hydrualic motor is running (sounds like under a load). <br />I can turn the manual/power trim screw to manual<br />and the rams comress right down like they are supposed to. I can then turn the screw to power<br />and the trim rams will work fine to lift only.<br />I have done this up/down deal with the manual screw quite a few times as I have been told this is how to purge air from the system, and I have<br />checked the fluid level. It's clean and full.<br />Any advice offered would be greatly appreciated.
