Hi all,
I have a Yamaha outboard engine 70TLRP (1991) with a trim and tilt problem.
I had a very slow oil leak below the trim and tilt dc motor, removed the motor replaced the o ring between the motor and housing of the trim and tilt assembly. I subsequently activated the trim and tilt and noticed that oil was leaking badly
below the dc motor, removed the motor and saw a large crack at the motor base going into one of the three mounted bolt holes of the motor. It appears that I might have over torqued the bolts when I installed the motor back in the trim and tilt assembly. I am going to buy another trim and tilt motor and would
like any advice as to the proper procedure in installing the motor with out cracking the motor base again. Your help resolving this problem will be greatly appreciated.
