I have a 93 115V4 Yammy 2 stroke. I notice on their Web site that the 115 and 130 both have the same cubic capacity. The 115 gets it max horse power at 5000 rpm and the 130 is said to get its max horse power at 5500 rpm. Its the same block apparantly and I think compression is same. Do Yammaha just put bigger jets in the carbs and rev it another 500 rpm to get the 15 extra neddies?

Cheers

Re: Yammy 115-130

I mis-read the specs - compression goes from 6.5:1 to 6.8:1 - that appears to be part of the answer. It seems therefore that the 115 is pretty understressed as far as the V4 block is concerned.
