Yanmar Diesel Engine having problems with sterndrive

I have a Carolina Classic 25' 2" sea fishing boat powered with a Yanmar 6LP-STE motor, I'm having troubles with the sterndrive,this is the second time I have to change the sterndrive because it brokes , first time came with original Yanmar , second time I change it with a Volvo STE sterndrive (do not know if it is the correct model) and it broke again now I do not know which stern drive is the best for this motor.
1.- Which stern drive do you guys recommend for this motor?
2.-The correct Ratio to use ?( last I bought was 1.95 :1)
3.- I read that new stern drives comes now with new intercooled that comes with new motors, can I adapt this to my actual motor? (maybe this will help so it can last longer)
