Folks it sure looks like a bridge rectifier.
Is it just a bridge rectifier or does it have
some voltage regulation charactoristics to it? (12 pole alternator) 1986 model year.

I would rather pay 8 bucks at a electronics
store the 25 at a marina.

Thanks in advance
Michael

Some are just rectifiers. There is a kit you can buy to put one on with a regulator on it also. If you just use the rectifier make sure you keep the battery fluid level topped off.

Hi MRC:
I like someone who can see the bigger picture!
Couple things to keep in mind if you are to use a generic rectifier.

>the generic rectifier requires heat sinking(be sure to mount on cool water jacket and use dielectric grease between)
>choose a rectifier with atleast 25 amps. current capacity and 200 PIV.(should run around $5.00
>with an addition of a DPDT switch and one extra diode, you could add a 'low' 'high' charge feature which will help battery life in a big way...

Good luck man!! :)
