I had gotten out of the hobby for a bit but might be jumping back in where I left off. I just found a couple old evinrude outboards I can purchase for little or nothing and was wondering if I would be making a good decision or if these are lemons. I have had a few 9.5s and know they are a great motor and learned a lot from them. these I am told are 18 hp. I know this has probably been asked on this site a thousand times but can you decode by serial number? 15012-33334 is stamped on a plate in the front above the transom of one of them. if not they are only a few miles from my house and could check em out again tomorrow for more info. they look very similar and assume they are close in years. thanks in advance!!
