Year of 115 Johnson? Model #?

I have a 115 V4 Johnson. I have no idea what year. The marina thinks it's a '92 or '93. Someone seams to have removed the ID tag. I bought it used and the original owner said he was told it was a '95 when he bought it new with the boat (a '95 deckboat). He swears he did not remove it. The place he bought it from is out of bussiness, and I have heard they did things like this. <br /><br />Any way, the only number I can find is on the frost plug on top of the motor. It is G3770624. I think this is the Serial number. Can you tell the year from this? If not here else could I find the Model Number? Any help would be greatly apreciated!!<br /><br />Thanks<br />Tom

Moving Target <br /><br />Cannot get the year from the serial number. Need the model number. Look on the powerhead for a small plug(freeze plug looking) with numbers and/or letters on it. Post anything you find.

Is the G3770624 number indeed the serial number then? This was on a frost plug on the motor. I will look for more numbers.<br /><br />Thanks<br />Tom
