Going to change the impeller on my nephews Mercury. He's not sure of the year. It's model # 50ELPTO, SN 1B774951

You buy Mercury parts by serial number, not by year. The reason for this is that Mercury stopped using years so dealers could sell left over unused engines without taking a steep discount.

The reason I asked is because I tried to enter those numbers here on iboats and they came up not found.

I found the 50hp (3cylinder, correct?) listed under the list of Mercury impellers:

50hp (3 Cyl.)0G760300 THRU 0T999999, 1B000001 & UP
Mercury part # 85089 10

FYI if you place your order over the phone, iboats offers forum members a discount

The engine should be an 2006 but it could also be a little newer than that but not much. The model number is 1050412FD

jbcurt00 found you the impeller part number but if you're interested in a more complete kit with gaskets, etc. then the OEM kit part number is 821354A2 which can be found here at iboats inside the following link, http://www.iboats.com/Boat-Parts-Ac...--searched.1--session_id.010620789?q=821354A2

The easiest way for you to find parts is to use the following parts catalog, find your part numbers you are in need of and run the part number through the search bar here on iboats to see if it's available here.... http://www.mercruiserparts.com/selectDocs.asp?doc_nbr=803026001

Hope this helps, good luck.

That explains everything. I saw the year 2006 somewhere while trying to find the part # for the impeller but nephew had said he bought his rig new in 2009.

jbcurt00: Thanks for the part #.

Fun Times: Thanks for the link. It's going to take me a while to get use to the way Mercury does things. I'm use to buying parts for my Evinrudes.
