I am trying to find out the year of an Evinrude outboard that I just bought. Serial is 4371 02747. I was told that this was a 1941 year model and I am just trying to see if that's correct? Also, where is the best place for parts, original color paints and information to restore completely original? Thanks for any information!

Number shows it to be 1941 to 1946 year model. And its a 3.3 horsepower.

Parts are just a bit scarce for that motor, you'll find. You want to go to:

www.aomci.org

They have excellent links to help owners of prewar outboards. If anyone can help, the folks there can.

Hmm, those numbers are tricky. The model number suggests it was made after 1942, and the serial number suggests it was made before 1946. But that would make it a war production model ('43-'45). I suppose that's certainly possible though.
You should be able to find paint for your Sportwin at nymarine.ca . There's links there for decals and other good stuff. Good luck!
