Year of Johnson 175 hp

I found the numbers 175749S/J0003189 on the block. It was sold to me as a 1986 motor but it does not have the VRO system. Can someone please tell me, from the numbers, what year the motor is? Thanx...Jim

Thats a 1977 175 Evinrude block which is the 149 cid 2.5 liter motor. A 1986 175 would have been the 2.6 liter block with the "bubble back" type exhaust plates.
