Year of Johnson outboard

I think that I have a 1985 Johnson 50HP. The model is J50TL CUD and serial number is 7429046. Is it a 1985? I have a repair manual for 1985 but the closes model numbers that the book covers is J50TLCO and J50TELCO. What are these motors compared to mine J50TL CUD? The J50TL CUD is a 1987 Model. The manual you have is indeed for a 1985 Model(J50TLCO). The models are going to be very similar, but it is always best to have the proper manual for your year. Most of the procedures and data in the '85 Manual will apply to your engine as well.
