Additional ?, the motor was professionaqlly serviced 1 year ago and not run since. Do I need to replace the water pump impeller? Again thanks.

That's a 1981 model engine, NUG. (J35ECIG).<br /><br />I might have been manufactured in 1980.<br /><br />I think your impeller is probably okay for another year.

Jim, fatal mistake is to make assumptions. Even when I replace my own water pump impeller, I check when running it to make sure it's cooling. <br /><br />After thoroughly warm, can you lay your fingers on the block/head for a few seconds before having to remove them. If you can, it's probably cooling OK. If you can't, see if your wife can. They seem to be better able to take heat than us guys. On second thought, get your wife to try it first.
