i know you responded with the year 75 , but i can't find this model number (4251237)listed anywhere under 7.5 mercury ......please help........

That's not a model number, that's a serial number.... Merc don't use model numbers like Johnrude... They use serial numbers. If you need parts, the serial number is what is going to be asked for.... If you were looking for a Merc 7.5 with that serial number you would have had a problem, look under Merc'75'....
